Chartering a yacht in Attica: what to ask

Yacht charters in Attica mostly start from the marinas along the Saronic coast, and the operators listed here work out of Alimos, Lavrio, Piraeus, Glyfada and Aegina. What they offer differs enough that the first useful question is what kind of boat and what level of crew you want. Cavo Yachting on Eleftherias Avenue in Alimos arranges monohulls, catamarans and motor yachts as bareboat, skippered or crewed charters. Sail Greece works from its own fleet at Alimos Marina and runs bareboat and skippered sailing charters, with crewed options where a captain sails and a hostess cooks on board.

Elsewhere the picture shifts. Hermes Yachting at Olympic Marine in Lavrio sails modern yachts and catamarans towards the Cyclades and the Saronic Gulf. Celline Cruises in Glyfada runs RIB rental and day cruises to Aegina, Hydra, Poros and Spetses, and also arranges private celebrations and multi-day charters. On Aegina, Seadog Aegina Rent a boat states that its boats can be used without a licence, and Aegina Cruises runs crewed trips from the port with a fleet of three boats. Ask each operator what the charter price includes, whether a skipper or hostess is part of it, and how the week or day is routed before you book.
