Chartering a yacht in Athens: what to ask

Yacht charters in Athens start from offices and marinas across the city, and the operators listed here each work a little differently. Kavas Yachting, based in Athens, arranges skippered charters on sailing yachts and catamarans, and its own description refers to a fleet of more than 50 boats offered bareboat or with a skipper around the Greek islands. Sail Greece works from its own fleet at Alimos Marina and offers bareboat and skippered sailing yacht charters. JF Yachts on Irakleous Street arranges sailing charters with custom itineraries starting from Athens, Mykonos or Lefkas.

Others lean toward private trips and events. Yacht Charter Athens on Stadiou arranges private charters on the Athens Riviera and plans on-board events, with travel and lifestyle experts handling details such as reservations and VIP access. Cyanos Yachting runs private daily trips, transfers and corporate or personal events across the Cyclades, Saronic Gulf and Dodecanese. AnchorsBook lists private charters for occasions from birthdays to film shoots. When you compare, ask each operator what the charter price includes, whether the boat comes bareboat, skippered or crewed, and whether you want a motor yacht, a sailing yacht or a catamaran.
