About this venue
The Byzantine Tower of Prosphorion in Ouranoupoli was built before the 14th century and belonged to the Prosphorion dependency of the Athonite Monastery of Vatopedi. The tower building, the barbakas and the arsanas survive today. Its spaces display antiquities from pre-Christian and Christian Chalkidiki, and one section is dedicated to Sydney and Joice Loch, who lived in the tower in the 20th century and offered social work to the residents of Ouranoupoli and to refugees from Asia Minor.
