About this venue
The Museum of Musical Instruments Thirathen is a museum of traditional music, instruments, research and documentation in the centre of Heraklion, opposite the church of Agios Minas. It was founded in 2012 with its headquarters in the village of Krousonas in the Municipality of Malevizi, and in December 2023 it opened to the public in its new space in a renovated neoclassical building in the city centre. Its collection focuses on the music of the Mediterranean.
