The Historical Archive and Museum of Epirus is housed in the Soufari Sarai building, an 18th-century structure in the Castle of Ioannina. The Historical Archive occupies the upper floor and preserves and conserves more than 3,000,000 historical records under special conditions. The museum on the ground floor holds permanent exhibits and temporary exhibitions. It is a museum, research and educational institution dedicated to modern history, and it has hosted conferences and musical and cultural events.
