The Banknote Museum of the Ionian Bank occupies a 19th-century building in Corfu and holds a collection of Greek banknotes and coins spanning roughly 180 years. Its second floor is used for temporary exhibitions as well as congresses, day conferences, seminars and workshops, so the museum functions both as a display space and as a small event venue in the centre of Corfu. The permanent collection traces the history of Greek currency, while the temporary programme changes over time. Each 18 May the museum marks International Museum Day with activities tied to that year's theme.
